Great Floors Acquires Michael’s Floor Covering go Vancouver, WA

Coeur D’alene, ID, April 18, 2018-Great Floors has expanded its Northwest footprint with the purchase of Michael’s Floor Covering in Vancouver, Washington. With this acquisition, Great Floors now covers the I-5 corridor in Western Washington with 12 locations.
While the name will change and Great Floors’ buying power will benefit Michael’s customers, the products and services that Vancouver customers have grown to expect will continue. Michael’s Floor Covering has been providing floor covering and installation services to the greater Vancouver and Portland area since 2010.
Earlier this year Great Floors opened a location in Bozeman, Montana. Great Floors has been serving customers in the Pacific Northwest for nearly 50 years. With over 500 employees, its operations now reach from Bozeman, Montana to Seattle, Washington.

People are important when you’re focused on being successful,” said Doug Chadderdon, chief executive officer of Great Floors, a flooring retailer with 19 stores in the Northwestern United States. Chadderdon grew up in the flooring industry. His parents Keith and Marge Chadderdon founded Carpet Center and Carpet Exchange in 1971. After Doug completed his undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in the 1980s, he decided to work in banking.

While Great Floors struggled through the same issues other construction-related industries had to deal with during the downturn,the company stayed tough and came out of it with its reputation intact and just some scuff marks to show for it. Checking in at No. 40, this Coeur d’Alene-based Company has always been a solid performer on the Idaho private 75 list, ranging from the No. 29 positionback in 2007 and 2008 to No. 46 in 2013.
